Masked Man 85/100: The Selfless Man

Wednesday Sep 01, 2021
Hello and welcome back to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. We are now in Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all walks of life about masculinity, sex and relationships, and how that contributes to our self worth.
Continuing with this week's theme on miscommunication on relationships, how much do we play up our sexual attraction with friends, just for the drama? Masked Man #85 is the Selfless Man. He shares his story about a best friend he's in love with and is doing everything in his power to destroy his feelings for her because it would be selfish to go for it.
I'm still a bit unclear about all the details, but it sounds like your typical third party situation and I actually get pretty heated because I don't back down when he calls me selfish. We obviously eventually arrive at the conclusion that choosing love would be the courageous thing to do, but only if you have this conversation with the third party and figure shit out. I guess we'll have to tackle that confrontation another day. Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 84/100: The Giver

Hello, you're listening to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. Welcome to Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different types of men on dealing with relationships in today's modern world.
This week I'm focusing on miscommunication in relationships. Masked Man #84 is the Giver. He is a newly single man that gets really open and honest about how his last relationship fell apart.
He talks about how he gives and gives and gives, and compromises his work and time for this girlfriend that apparently acted like it was never enough. And how trying to make her happy ultimately made him feel so trapped and stuck it sucked out all the love they had.
Now I have heard about this a lot from men on this show, on prioritizing a relationship over their work and feeling lazy or like they're not at where they used to be when she wasn't in their life yet. But how often does love enter your life? Wouldn't that be worth taking a break from whatever your goals are, live a little? Then what are we living for, if not for love? Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 83/100: The Masked Outsider

Hello and welcome back to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. We are now in Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all walks of life about masculinity, sex and relationships, and how that contributes to our self worth.
Continuing with this week's theme on platonic relationships, I noticed that a lot of straight men don't have friendships with not only women but also gay men. Masked Man #83 is the Masked Outsider.
This is a fun episode where I get to chat with a gay man about his perspective observing straight men as an outsider looking in. I discovered him from his videos on red flags with straight men in relationship with women and I find it interesting that no one ever said he was wrong, they just said he was gay, so what does he know.
I can really relate with this one being a female host trying to understand the position of straight men and how we can all work together on building better relationships. Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 82/100: The Best Friend

Hello, you're listening to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. Welcome to Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different types of men on dealing with relationships in today's modern world.
This week I'm focusing on platonic relationships. Masked Man #82 is the Best Friend. I discovered him on TikTok from his video on the weirdness of having a best friend act like a romantic partner and crossing boundaries.
In this episode we talk about how we might like to remain in the grey zone in a friendship situation to feel like we can always get that ego boost with them, or maybe we want to use them to make our actual romantic partner jealous, whatever it is, it's just the fact that we are leveraging one person to affect our relationship with another person.
I really hope in this conversation we can try to open up the discussion of platonic relationships to show that this can happen and that not every interaction with the opposite sex has to result in a tumultuous movie scene situation. Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 81/100: The Disconnected Man

Hello and welcome back to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. We are now in Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all walks of life about self identity, self worth and self love in relationships.
Masked Man #81 is the Disconnected Man. He bravely shares the three times he's been in a relationship and in all of those times he was abused, lied and cheated on. I think it's important to see that women do these things too, although it's just not spoken about that much.
In this episode I challenge him to think about how he might be in a cycle of repeating the same patterns, going for the same types of people, just to prove that he should be alone and that he can't trust anyone else but himself. It would be a different story if he tried things differently and got the same results. I guarantee you, just by changing you will receive a different result. Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 80/100: Ex-Wall Street

Hello, you're listening to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. Welcome to Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all around the world about masculinity, sex and relationships, and how that contributes to our self worth.
Masked Man #80 is Ex-Wall Street. In this episode we talk a lot about the imposter syndrome, of overcompensating to do a good job in case we might get found out we’re not actually who we say we are, and the courage in blocking out a poor mindset to realize how rich we really are.
We talk about leaving the matrix and traveling the world, and then returning home as a completely transformed person and how that can affect our relationships with our family and friends. What happens when you are so different you can't even recognize yourself? Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 79/100: The Isolated Man

Wednesday Aug 11, 2021
Hello and welcome back to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. We are now in Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all walks of life about self identity, self worth and self love.
On the theme of building better relationships, this week we're focusing on the most important relationship - the one we have with ourselves.
Masked Man #79 is the Isolated Man. He shares his experience about living alone for the first time and getting really comfortable with himself. So comfortable that socializing with people now is more of a challenge because he enjoys his company so much now. I'm sure we can all relate to this after the lockdown.
In this episode we talk about feelings of resentment when we feel the other person isn't valuing our worth or even considering us in their plans. I don't think anyone intentionally tries to exclude the other from making a decision for the both of us, but how do we keep our eyes open for those non verbal cues that might suggest someone is uncomfortable about speaking up. Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.

Masked Man 78/100: The Conscious Man

Hello, you're listening to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. Welcome to Season 4 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all around the world about masculinity, sex and relationships, and how that contributes to our self worth.
This week we're moving on a higher vibration, so if you're into that self awareness thing, this one's for you. Masked Man #78 is the Conscious Man. He shares his story of coming from a very religious household, breaking out of that, and the isolation he received from choosing his own path.
In this episode we talk a lot about the guilt we carry for not doing the right thing. But what exactly is right or wrong? Out of this conversation I learned that we might stay in a relationship with someone who is going through a hard time out of guilt of setting them off. And we take it even further when I think about how much I celebrated that man, praised him, for tolerating me at my worst. How could he leave now? Let's get into it. I hope you enjoy the show.
